Introduction: Systems Anatomy
This is a continuation to the basic anatomy studied in year one semester one. This is a prerequisite course to clinical placement. This period of study is for learners to develop a working knowledge of anatomical principles and to be capable of relating their knowledge of anatomy to disease states and to Nursing interventions.

Objectives
At the end of this period of study, the student will be able to:
  • Describe the anatomy of the major body systems
  • Understand the significance of the study of anatomy to the practice of Nursing
  • Identify the anatomical relationship between systems of the body and the disease states
Learning Outcomes 
By the end of this unit, students should be able to; 
  • Describe the location, structure and function of the different components of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, Head and Neck, and other body systems
Competences
  • Describe the location, structure and function of the different components of the body systems.  
  • Exhibit a positive attitude towards anatomy and respect for persons.
