Introduction: Systems Pathology
This course addresses concepts of dysfunction and altered digestive, renal and urologic, reproductive neurologic systems and hormonal regulation finally, it explores the role of the nurse in carrying out investigative procedures

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, the nursing students should be able to:
  • Describe the pathology of the common disorders involving the various body systems- integumentary musculoskeletal, hematologic cardiovascular and pulmonary systems.
  • Describe and explain immune mediated disorders in the human body.
  • Describe alterations of digestive function, renal, urologic system, the reproductive systems, and the neurologic systems
  • Describe alterations of hormonal regulation. 
Competences
Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to: 
  • Demonstrate understanding of the principles of immunology and general pathology in caring for clients and patients, taking accurate clinical observations and carrying out simple investigative procedures.
  • Demonstrate understanding of altered functions of selected body systems and provide appropriate nursing care to those clients/patients.
