Introduction: Medical Nursing
This course focuses on the Nursing of adult and older persons during medical conditions/situations using a conceptual approach in the Nursing interventions.  It covers the following 8 topics under the general body systems. The selections of the subtopics are based on major conditions seen in the hospital and community;

Competences 
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  • Explain ways in which treatments and Nursing interventions influence the body’s remarkable ability to compensate for the pathophysiological changes in disease production.
  • Identify ways of health promotion and illness prevention relative to patient conditions related to medical situations/conditions.
  • Discuss rehabilitation processes for persons requiring this intervention.
  • Demonstrate competency in the medical Nursing interventions using Nursing process.
  • Interpret the manifestations and diagnostic results of different medical conditions
