Introduction: Community Health Nursing
This is a community-oriented field study. It covers the application of the concepts, principles and techniques of community health, health assessment, teaching methods in health promotion, disease prevention and early referral. 

Course Objectives
  • The aim of this course is to learn, apply and practice the concepts and strategies of health promotion and disease prevention to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in the community. 
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to: 
  • Define community health Nursing. 
  • State the key components of community and identify aggregates in the community
  • Demonstrate knowledge of models of community health Nursing
  • Discuss the use of key health planning concepts in community health Nursing practice. 
  • Describe the impact of culture, socioeconomic status, lifestyle, environment, and violence on the health of the community. 
  • Analyses the health of a community based on data from a community assessment.
