Introduction: Specialized Medical-Surgical Nursing
This course content aims to provide undergraduate nursing students with a specialized skills in nursing, covering both theoretical and practical aspects. Students will learn from specialized areas which was not possible in the medical and surgical courses.

Course Objective
  • To demonstrate the management of specialized medical-surgical conditions
  • To acquire experience in specialized medical-surgical conditions
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
  • Apply the knowledge and Nursing skills in the delivery of specialized nursing care 
  • Distinguish culturally sensitive effective communication strategies when interacting with the patients of various ages, their families, and members of the health care team.
  • Assess the provision of safe and effective care to patients and their families in a variety of specialized settings. 
  • Determine the availability of existing programs needed to manage the care of the specialized  patient in collaboration with other health team members.
Competences 
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
  • Integrate Nursing knowledge in the delivery of specialized nursing care.
  • Determine the availability of existing programs needed to manage the care of the specialized conditions in collaboration with other health team members.
